VDC is proud sponsor of the Victorian Large Training Provider of the Year award at the 2017 Victorian Training Awards. The Awards showcase innovation and collaboration between training providers and industry. Nominations for the awards are now open and will remain open until midnight 16 June 2017.

This year’s awards feature 15 categories including six individual categories, three training and four employer categories, an Industry Collaboration Award and a Lynne Kosky Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement. I would like to highlight that applications for funding under the 2017 Skills First Trainer and Assessor Academic Grants Program close at 5.00 pm this Friday, 26 May 2017. The Program provides trainers and assessors with significant financial support for their studies and direct engagement in additional coaching, mentoring and professional development in 2017 coordinated by the VDC. The Academic grant program provides each recipient with a grant of $8,000 towards enrolment fees for the study of a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and/or Masters.  This study must be in the field of education. Following on the from the success of our Breakfast with Sir Ian Botham in March, we are honoured to have AFL Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge as the guest speaker at the upcoming VDC VET Leaders Lunch on 16 June. Join us over a sit down lunch as TripleM Radio sports journalist and former AFL star Michael Roberts interviews the four time premiership player and dual Norm Smith medallist (awarded as best on ground in an AFL grand final).
