Thank you to all that attended the 2017 VDC VET Leaders Lunch. It was fantastic to see attendees from interstate and regional areas coming to the function. AFL Hawthorn Champion Luke Hodge and media personality Michael Roberts did not disappoint, with Luke providing a fascinating insight to the leadership role and challenges of a senior player at an elite professional sporting organisation.

The Commonwealth Government is undertaking a Review of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 and its associated legislative framework will assess the suitability and capacity of the framework to ensure students and employers can access quality training into the future. As was well documented in the media, the Government established the new Vocational Education and Training student loans (VSL) program on 1 January 2017 to replace the VET-FEE-HELP scheme.  As part of the VSL program, a new VET Ombudsman will commence from 1 July 2017.
