Strengthening VET provision in government schools
In 2017, the VET Development Centre (VDC) is offering a range of professional development for VET and VCAL teachers/coordinators and careers practitioners in Victorian government schools. This includes a series of one-day forums and a 10-day industry immersion opportunity.
Casual relief teacher (CRT) payments are available to schools that release staff to attend this professional learning.
There will be an opportunity for up to 100 VET teachers and trainers in Victorian Government Schools to participate in a ten-day industry immersion in Terms 3 and 4 2017. The industry immersion is designed to enhance teachers' industry currency and strengthen engagement with industry as required under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. This activity will also assist in meeting the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Professional Development requirements.
Teachers interested in applying for this program are encouraged to attend an industry themed forum for more information.
Note: To be eligible to apply for this program, applicants must be Victorian Government School teachers and trainers delivering VET to secondary school students. To apply see APPLICATION PROCESS
