2024 CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
2024 CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
The VET National Teaching & Learning Conference 2024 was delivered as an in‑person event at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 15–16 August.
Guided by the theme ‘From Competence to Excellence – Strive to Inspire’, the 2024 Conference brought together VET practitioners and sector professionals for two days of rich professional learning. The program featured a diverse mix of sessions focused on teaching practice, alongside a dedicated stream showcasing VET applied research for the broader VET workforce.
A key highlight of the Conference was the celebration of VDC’s partnership with WorldSkills Australia, recognising the Australian team ahead of their departure to compete in the 47th WorldSkills International Championships in Lyon, France, in September 2024.
Continuing to build on the momentum of previous conferences, the 2024 theme encouraged VET professionals to critically reflect on their own practice and consider how they can inspire excellence in learners and future workforce capability. Delegates heard from high‑profile keynote speakers, participated in presentations and panel discussions, and took part in interactive workshops and research sessions, while also connecting with colleagues from across Australia.
