Adam Bignold teaches cyber security at Federation University and has been in the tertiary education space for over 11 years. Before that, he worked in the tech industry for eight years as a programmer and cyber security specialist.
Adam’s focus is on making learning accessible, practical, and engaging. He’s passionate about lifelong learning and helping students build not just skills, but build confidence. Over the years, he has redesigned the cyber security program to better reflect the real-world challenges students will face in the workplace, like using hands-on scenarios where students create and defend their own networks from simulated cyber-attacks.
For Adam, the journey from competence to excellence is about curiosity, growth, and making space for people to learn in a way that works for them. He loves seeing students discover what they’re capable of and enjoys being part of that learning process.
