Kent brings a diverse range of experience to the role of Teacher Capability Specialist – Digital having worked in education for over 20 years, including Secondary, VCAL, VET and Higher Education, in a range of subject areas from hospitality and business to music and Drama. Alongside this, Kent has also worked in venue management for 16 years, applying training and technology to better staff, business and customer outcomes.
As a specialist in digital facilitation, Kent has a strong passion for the development of digital literacies and proficiencies in all aspects of life, especially in education. Kent’s experience has allowed him to identify areas where technology can be utilised to enhance teacher capability and streamline processes to support educators and student engagement and learning. As digital tools and artificial intelligence continue to evolve, Kent is motivated by their ongoing potential to deliver improved outcomes across the VET sector.
Kent joined BKI in 2020 as a VCAL Teacher in the Foundations Education Centre, before moving into his current role in the Teacher Capability team. Over the previous three years, Kent worked across BKI in supporting, developing and delivering a range of programs based around the betterment of delivery resources, the learning management system and student engagement, to uplift the digital capability of teachers across BKI and the wider VET sector.
