Lisa Piller is a researcher, award-winning educator and advocate for systemic change in the fashion and textile sector, with over 25 years’ experience spanning design practice, sustainable product development, and circular economy leadership. She lectures in innovation, fashion design and business, following a 16-year career in product design and supply chain management.
As the 2024 Australian VET Sustainability Fellow and WA Trainer of the Year, Lisa investigated global circular textile ecosystems to inform practice, training and policy in Australia. Her Fellowship Report, Circular by Design: Global stories for a regenerative textile future, builds on a body of published research into sustainable pathways for small enterprise and state-based circularity. A skilled collaborator and curriculum designer, and a founding member of the Circular Textile Working Group WA, Lisa is committed to embedding craftspersonship, community and place-based practice at the heart of a just and localised circular transition.
