Following the successful Semester 1 grant program for Victorian TAFEs, applications are now open for the Semester 2 round of the VDC Workforce Development Grants and will close 5pm Friday 17 July 2026.
This round is designed to support Private RTOs with a Victorian Skills First contract and Learn Local providers, with funding available to strengthen workforce capability, drive innovation, and support high-quality training delivery across the VET sector.
As part of the Workforce Development initiative targeting organisational capability, VDC is offering grants for projects that focus on operational innovation and workforce development within eligible organisations.
The Semester 2 program aims to provide financial support to Skills First and Learn Local providers to build workforce capability and development within the VET sector—supporting providers to maintain and enhance quality practices.
Funding Available
- Five (5) grants of $10,000 will be available to successful applicants in this round.
- Eligible organisations are invited to submit a proposal outlining a workforce development project aligned to organisational needs and Skills First priorities.
Applicants will be encouraged to focus on areas of organisational workforce capability. Projects may range from general teaching and learning practice, staff induction and ongoing support, and development of emerging coordinators and leaders, and appropriate onboarding mechanisms.
The Semester 2 organisational capability project duration must be completed by Tuesday 1 December 2026.
Projects should demonstrate a clear focus on practical, measurable outcomes.
Expected Outcomes
Successful projects are expected to deliver tangible benefits, such as:
- Building skills and capability within the VET workforce through targeted professional learning
- Improving staff onboarding and retention practices
- Supporting leadership development and succession planning

The full Semester 2 funded program will be released on the VDC website and shared directly to your inbox in the coming weeks. These programs are designed to support teachers, trainers, assessors, and administrative staff across the Victorian VET sector and Learn Local communities.
Funded by the Victorian Skills Authority, these initiatives enable the VET Development Centre (VDC) to deliver targeted workforce development opportunities. The workshops support Skills First providers and Learn Local organisations to strengthen capability and deliver high-quality training outcomes for learners across Victoria.
