The VET Development Centre (VDC) has partnered with TDA to deliver a program of TAFE Industry Currency Forums in 2023. The program is intended to provide a high-profile, best practice initiative, to stimulate industry currency for TAFE educators.
The online forums will be hosted by an experienced AQTF auditor, discussing the industry currency of educators, it’s frequency and how to record this information. Leading Australian experts from industries identified with skills shortages and associated TAFE courses, will be guest speakers discussing the disruption and changes to work practice over the past 3 years. TAFE educators will learn about the future of work in their industry areas and how to prepare their VET students for work or further study through discussions with the speakers.

The VET Development Centre (VDC) is delighted to announce the launch of the VDC Sustainability Fellowship for VET Practitioners.
Working in partnership with the International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute), VDC is funding the VDC International Sustainability Fellowship [travel] and the VDC International Sustainability Fellowship [desktop]. The Fellowship program focuses on developing opportunities within the VET sector to support sustainable practices and innovation to generate long term social and environmental benefits.

The VDC National Thought Leadership series for 2023 will feature four 90-minute free online seminars – on a huge variety of topics. In the past we’ve covered working with Indigenous communities, suggestions for onboarding of new staff, the vast array of careers within the VET sector, to how you can design your own education plans.
The first Thought Leadership Seminar of 2023, on tomorrow, is called “Design Education and VET – Preparing Graduates for Future Industries” and is being facilitated by a 2022 International Specialised Skills Institute Fellow Paul Boys, Director, Gippsland Tech School.
