Welcome to the second edition of VDC News.

VDC in collaboration with the International Specialised Skills Institute Fellowship Program are providing VET Leaders and Practitioners an opportunity for mutual learning and sharing and to be inspired by a 2016 International Fellow recipient Jimmy Pham, founder of the KOTO Project in Vietnam. You may know Jimmy from the ABC documentary called Jimmy’s Kitchen which aired to an audience of millions. Jimmy will be in Melbourne from 7 to 19 October 2016.

KOTO, through an integrated approach combining professional skills training, English programs, health wellbeing and life skills workshops, has successfully engaged disengaged young people in Vietnam since the 1990s. Jimmy will be discussing how the KOTO model and its approach to transitioning disengaged young people into vocational studies and into employment.

We are currently in the process of finalising Jimmy’s schedule which will include a presentation at the complimentary VDC Thought Leaders networking function at Rydges, Melbourne on 18 October.
