The Australian Government has established an expert advisory panel to “provide independent strategic advice to the Government on key reforms flowing from the Joyce Review ‘Expert Review of Australia’s VET System’, released in April 2019.”

VDC News highlighted the Joyce review in an April article this year in the lead up to the last federal election and touched on it again post-election in another article in May.

Late August 2019 saw the announcement of the panel’s membership. Chaired by the Hon. Steven Joyce, it has two other members: Professor Peter Noonan of Victoria University – who is also chairing the present review of the AQF, and Dr Vanessa Guthrie. She is currently an ABC Board member as well as holding a number of other positions, including being Chair of the Minerals Council of Australia.

As the press release from the Hon Michaelia Cash and the Hon Steve Irons announcing the panel points out:

“The Morrison Government is acting on the Joyce Review, committing more than $525 million to the Delivering Skills for Today and Tomorrow package, to support more Australians to gain the skills employers are looking for”.
