The Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance, a Jobs and Skills Council funded by the Australian Government, Department of Employment and Workplace Relations has designed this national campaign to inspire young Australians – and those who support them -to see manufacturing for what it truly is today: a dynamic, future-focused industry powered by innovation, purpose, and opportunity.

Manufacturing is central to so many aspects of modern life. From aerospace to food and beverage, engineering and beyond. Despite its importance, outdated perceptions still make it difficult to attract new talent. Too often, manufacturing is seen as dirty, dangerous, or repetitive. The reality is very different – today’s jobs are secure, highly skilled, and at the cutting edge of technology.

That’s where Make It ManuFACTuring comes in. This campaign has been created to challenge old myths, share authentic stories, and open people’s eyes to the real opportunities available; showcasing young Australians already thriving in manufacturing and highlighting the pathways that led them there.

Whether it’s robotics and automation, clean energy, food production, or advanced design, manufacturing offers career options as diverse as the people who choose them. It’s not just about building things – it’s about building a future. The industry needs problem-solvers, innovators, creators, and leaders, and there’s a place for everyone who wants to make their mark.

This campaign is grounded in research and built with collaboration across government, employers, unions, and training providers.
