VDC Free Thought Leader Seminars 2018

Wed 14 March | News Archive,VDC News

With the realisation of the VDC training facilities, in 2018 we will be holding regular free thought leader functions for the VET sector. Not only VDC events but also functions which involve other organisations partnering with VDC to utilise its facilities in kind, as well as partnering to promote thought leader type functions.

In terms of VDC specific events, four free Thought Leader Seminars are planned throughout the year. The first seminar if being held on 15 March, where the VDC will present Sharon Richens. Sharon is an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for best practice Injury Management strategies, Workplace Wellbeing and Employee Resilience programmes. The seminar is entitled ‘Developing the strategy for best practice well-being engagement’ and will focus on the ABC Happy Body at Work program outcomes, trialled by VDC with Victorian TAFE in 2017.

The inaugural AVETRA VET Practitioner Research Conference will be held on 26-27 April at the VDC. AVETRA, VDC and VTA are the partners for this event. The conference is a unique opportunity for VET teachers, trainers and other professionals to present and learn about new research in VET. Workshops, brief research ‘snapshots’ and full research presentations make up the program, along with an international keynote, José Luis Fernandez Maure, Head of International at TKNIKA (Institute of Innovation and Applied Research for Vocational Education and Training) in the Basque Country.
