To celebrate the contribution and achievements of educators, teachers and trainers in the VET sector VET Development Centre (VDC) is presenting its annual free online seminar on World Teachers’ Day. With the theme “Celebrating Small Successes”, the session will run twice on Friday 25 October – once at 12:30 pm AEDT and repeated at 3:30 pm AEDT.

This year’s event will feature International guest speaker, Artila Devi, Pacific Education and Partnerships Specialist Artila Devi, and Vicki Abraham Occupational Therapist and Managing Director of Abraham OT Services (AOTS). VDC CEO, Martin Powell, will host a Q&A following each presentation.

It’s important to appreciate the small achievements and this event will encourage participants to reflect on recent successes and consider how you can celebrate them, whether through personal acknowledgment or by highlighting the achievements of others. By embracing these moments, we cultivate a more fulfilling and supportive environment for both ourselves and our learners.

In Artila Devi’s presentation, she’ll remind us about taking a pause to prompt ourselves to celebrate all successes, big or small, and that small successes can take many forms, such as a learner grasping a concept, demonstrating a new skill, or a quiet student asking a question. Celebrating small successes can be as simple as engaging in enjoyable activities—like exercising, relaxing with a massage, or sharing laughter with friends. These actions help acknowledge the journey toward larger goals and foster a positive mindset.

Vicki Abraham is an Australian-based Occupational Therapist whose presentation talks about how we all need to find our balance in our work and life to truly love what we do and celebrate the small successes along the way. Take a journey with Vicki through her challenges in life and be inspired to remember your passion, be challenged to push yourself and most of all, be reminded that any success, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated.

This session is being run twice, once at 12:30pm AEDT, and then repeated at 3:30pm AEDT.
